How to Pass Time on the Internet

Without a doubt one of the hardest questions to answer, like ever: 'How to pass time on the Internet?'

Ok, Ok, for most people it's not that hard of a question as there are literally endless ways to do so, let's take a look at what you can do depending on what mood you are in.

Looking To Learn?

Try websites like Wikipedia or eHow, or your favorite article directory. These sites are literal treasure troves of information on almost any subject imaginable! Take a minute and hunt down a few pages and articles and expand your mind learning something new.

Feeling Social?

We all want to connect with other people sometimes, it's just human nature, and the Internet is fast becoming the easiest and most popular way to do so. Just look at the popularity of social sites like Facebook and Twitter - whatever your blend of social interaction there will be a site on the Internet to meet your needs.

Like a puzzle?

There are a gazillion puzzle and games sites on the Internet, not to mention the hordes of games and applications available through sites like Facebook. Whether you are looking for a 5 minute fix or a game that can last days, there are options available through games like Farmville, Bejewelled to Chess and online persistent worlds ready to whisk you off to a place far, far away.

What is going on in the world?

News sites like CNN or the BBC news from the UK provide you with up-to-the-minute news stories from around the world in all the main categories including politics, sports, crime, entertainment, and sciences. You can find news from your local area, your country and from around the world.

Fancy a Read?

There are countless books available in electronic format on the Internet these days, try sites like Google eBooks, or Readprint.com - literally millions of free books to read on any number of topics (you couldn't really have millions of books on only a few topics now could you...).

Let's face it; no matter how you pass time off the Internet, short of actual physical activities like playing sports, driving, or going on vacation, you can probably pass time doing the same thing online too. With the added elements of voice and video chats the social aspect of the Internet becomes more 'real' every day.

This article didn't even touch on my own ways passing time on the Internet these days - growing a business, which would take many more articles to cover!
